MG MG Y Type - Information on MG YT from Australia

I own an MG YT which was imported from Australia around 5-6 years ago and fully restored probably, in the UK. Unfortunately, I do not have any previous history of the car.

The chassis number is Y/T/EXR/3253 and
Engine No 12639.

Would anyone have any previous details of the car?

Many thanks

Dear AK

The best person to contact is Jack Murray, Registrar of the MG Car Club Y Type Register. You can contact him using the link on the Contact Us page at www.mgytypes.org. If he does not have anything I can put you in touch with Tony Slattery from "Down Under" who may also be able to help you. Let me know how you get on.

Also forgot to mention, please drop me a note for your car to appear on Ys on Parade too. There is an easy link from any Ys on Parade page - just click on the modem picture at the top of any Ys on Parade page at www.mgytypes.org and fill in the form, attach a photograph, and Send - I will do the rest for you.

Look forward to being able to welcome you to the fold.

hi Paul

Many thanks for your quick and very helpful reply. I have contacted Jack, who has responded to confirm he knows the name of the previous owner in Australia and has contacted the Australian Rep to seek more information.

This is the first time I have used the Bulletin Board in 2 years and it has proved extremely valuable.

As you suggested, I am entering details for Y's on Parade.

Your help is most appreciated.

Best wishes

Hello Anil, Your car was previously owned by a Mr. R.J. Russell c/o of a Queensland address (so maybe Mr Russell lived in UK ?), and the owner before was Alan Beatty from Maitland, New South Wales.

Alan may have more history that he can provide, as he sometimes visits this website.
