MG MG Y Type - Hydraulic Brake Light Switch
| Hi Folks, I guess this must have come up before but I cant find a thread. I want to fit an 'in line' brake light switch, as I understand they are more likely to remain reliable. I think that a kit used to be available via the MGCC but the only one I can find at the moment is thru NTG. Can I make one up myself and How should it be installed? I am currently in the process of assembling the chassis and do not have any pipework at the moment. Regards Rob |

| Hi Rob Unfortunately, indeed the MG Car Club Y Type Register used to sell these. However following a crack down on Registers selling spares by the Main Club in Abingdon they were forbidden to sell "Spares" like this. What I am pleased to tell you is that ARE still available direct from the manufacturer. If you go to the Links page on www.mgytypes.org and then go to SUPPLIERS and then BRAKE/FRICTION SYSTEMS you will see C&C Parts. You can order the Hydraulic Stop light Switch for MG Y and Y/T direct from them. If you cannot see it on their website, email them or better still just give them a quick call as their spoken English is better than their written and you will be able to order it and pay for it directly. Having had C&C Parts rebuild a brake master cylinder and also fitted one of their switches too to another car, I can personally vouch for the phenominal quality of their gear. If you need further help, please do not hesitate to get back to me or the BBS. Paul |
