MG MG Y Type - HARRY CRUTCHLEY
I am sure that many of you know that Harry Crutchley - the doyen of the Octagon CarClub - died last week. I posted a note on the TA-B-C site yesterday about this and in particular encouraging those of us close to Coventry to attend the Octagon's AGM This year is to be held on Sunday 20 April, which deliberately coincides with 'Drive it' - when as many of us as possible should get our classics out on the road. There will be car parking available at the Coventry Car Museum where the AGM will be held. It starts I believe at 200pm. It would be good to see a few Y owners there and to come up with ideas to promote the Octagon in the manner in which Harry would have wanted. Harry was always very helpful and extremely knowledgable - a very sad loss to the MG Community in general and his wife Jill, children and grandchildren in particular. Sincerely Jerry

Jerry Thank you for the posting. That is a very sad thing to hear. HArry was a great guy and I always loved his cheerful company. He will leave a very big hole and I personally am deeply saddened by his passing. I am sure I will join many in the MG WORLD who will wish to convey their condolensces to Jill. I am sorry that I will not be able to attend his memorial service but I will make a point of putting it on my calendar to be with you all in spirit. Again, my sincere condolensces to Jill and the family, Paul

Sad news indeed - I spoke to him on many occasions when ordering parts - he did great things for MG classic/vintage cars and will be sadly missed.
