MG MG Y Type - Happy Christmas to all Y owners

Dear Y members

A happy Christmas to all Y Type owners! The MGCC Y Type Register look forward to seeing some of you UK based owners at our 14th Spring Weekend to be held over 14/15 May 2011 in the Peak District, Yorkshire.

For more details and booking forms visit the Register site at http://www.mgccytyperegister.com where you will be able to download the details.

I wish you all a trouble free year with your Y Type and hope that none of you end up with a 'piston gone'.

This is the annual award that the Register make to any unfortunate who experiences a problem during the Spring Run. It has been won by a number of luminaries in the Y register including our President Dennis Doubtfire and Neil Cairns amongst others (though in fairness Neil's YB was still at the paint shop at the time of the event in 2009- so the blame lay elsewhere - and they did do a fantastic job).

Indeed as I was the only one to break down on the 2010 event I guess I was in the running. However, we decided to make the award to one of our most regular attendees Alan Chick as he celebrated 50 years of continuous Y type ownership. Well done Alan and a deserved award - even though you didn't break down! My thoughts were around the length of time that any of you have owned your Y type. It has probably been asked before but I am sure that Alan's continuous ownership of 50 years is hard to beat. Though I do believe that Ron Darvell has had his YA for many years. No prizes but a fascinating exercise nonetheless.

Happy New Year to all you guys.

Sincerely

Jerry

Hi Jerry

Happy Christmas to you too. Are you going to make registration possible through http://www.mgytypes.org too as it usually is? Please send me the necessary form together with any update to the event details and I will get it posted on the Events link.

Sounds like a fascinating location and I wish I could be there.

Happy Christmas too to all Y Owners out there too wherever you are in the world - Peace and Goodwill to all.

The 2011 MGCC Y Register Spring Weekend mentioned above by Jerry is definately a must.
However Jerry had clearly been on the wine already because I notice the web address is not quite right.
All the details and a form for printing can be found via http://www.mgccyregister.com

That might have been my fault when I recomiled a couple of posts from Jerry into one for clarity of message as he had missed the 5 minute edit post facility. My apologies if it was, no misguide was intended.
