MG MG Y Type - Grose Jet

I'd like to find out about a Grose jet for our cars. My carburetoris a Solex 32 PBIC. They were very similar to the Zenith-Stromberg carburetors of that era. In fact, rebuild kits are interchangeable I believe. So, I was thinking maybe one of the Grose jets supplied for the post 1974 MGB, Sprite, and Midgets might be the same. Those cars used a Zenith-Stromberg NOT a SU Carburetor.
I measured the threaded end and the hex for screwing it into the carburetor top. The Threaded portion is 11.90 mm diameter or about 15/32 inches. The hex is 14.35 mm or about 9/16 inches. I was thinking that maybe the Grose Jet from Moss with model number 386-350 might be this size. This is what I would like to have checked out. If it is not this size maybe you can ask if they have any that are that size. It would be for the Zenith NOT the SU.

Your best bet would be to talk to Joe Curto in New York - I think he can help you may be. His details are on the Links page.

Thank you...Now how do I get to the links page? Marvin

Check the archives, including A and B, for Grose jets. A thread not too long ago which, IF I remember correctly, concluded that the currently available Grose jets are not the same as were made in the past. Old ones work well. New ones do not.

Hi Marvin

Whenever I refer to the Links page, or indeed any page in response to a Y Question I am always referring to the site www.mgytypes.org - sorry I do tend to assume now that everyone knows that! I will be less presumptious in future.

Anyway, go to www.mgytypes.org, and the Links Page is the 9th menu option on the left frame.

It would also be nice to add your car to Ys on Parade - see the 7th menu option too. You can mail me stuff for this direct from your desktop - click the modem icon in the top left of any Ys on Parade page, complete the form, and then press send, complete the confirmation code and I will do the rest.

Cheers
