MG MG Y Type - Great roads to drive on

With all these comments about how scary it is to drive on UK roads how about some thoughts of the roads that you know that are great for driving your classic.

I have a couple which I enjoy driving along in both a classic and modern.

1
The old A45 between Higham Ferrers, Kimbolton
and St Neots. Great fun I drove along it last
week within the legal limits and without using the brakes for the 18 mile journey. This was spoilt on the return as I had to stop in the middle of Kimbolton as a lady tried to reverse her 4 x4 into the highway.

2

Between Furnace End (Coleshill) and Atherstone - a great road which passes through some of Warwickshire's unknown Forest of Arden.

3

Numerous roads in France

4

The M45- a motorway! Well yes because no-one ever uses it

5

Loads of roads in the Peak District and the North Yorks Moors.

Any ideas - especially of course for Y's, T's and other classics?

Sincerely

Hello Rob from NSW.

Do you think we should tell these blokes about the road from Binalong across to Cootamundra on the way to Wagga Wagga?

No probably not, on second thoughts they would not appreciate it.

Jerry,

I have recently obtained a Satnav and find that it will direct me down all kinds of "interesting" roads given the right incentive. And when you don't take any notice of it there is not a "Ratty" remark like "I told you to turn left". It stays calm and you don't have to feed it or buy it shoes.
