MG MG Y Type - DRIVE YOUR CLASSIC TO WORK
Classic Car Weekly is launching a major new initiative aimed at getting as many classics as posssible on the roads over five consecutive weekdays, Drive Your Classic to Work Week already has full support from the FBHVC, MG Car Club and the TR Register. The dates for the initiative to run are 12th-16th September 2011. Great to see this and lets hope that this is carried out across the UK - it could be a very interesting week on British roads. So get out and use your classics. Good luck Jerry

Jerry, Another fantastic idea, but I am sceptical of what it will achieve. How many workers these days have adequate safe and secure parking at work. I for one would not drive my car to work for fear of the works overcrowded car park and some careless person knocking the doors. I still feel organised events are the best way forward, and would not mix pleasure with work. Richard

Most Classic Car Policies are for Social, Domestic & Pleasure use and specifically exclude Business Use, Wedding Hire and Commuting. If you plan to take your classic out in the 'Rush Hour' then you would be wise to check your insurance policy. I have not seen any endorsements by the FHBVC, the MG Car Club or the TR Register, but this should have been highlighted as a potential problem. Regards.

David is quite correct and this is referred to in the CCW article on page 5 - Insurance -Make sure you're covered. The Initiative has the backing of FBHVC,the MGCC, Morris Minor Owners Club,TR Register and Bristol Owners Club. Whilst insurance is a fundemental -just seeing a handful of cars being used is a great way of raising public awareness. Well done CCW Jerry
