MG MG Y Type - Clock adjustment

The owners manual states, "The trip recording is returned ... by winder ... below instrument and behind the facia board ... The hands of the electric clock are reset in a similar fashion."

Well, for the life of me I cannot see how or where. I even managed to get my body in the foot well and my head under the dash (as you will all know that is no mean feat - when you are 6'2" and as old as the car!) but still could not locate anything which looked vaguely adjustable, except for the rather large and obvious, aforementioned, trip meter winder.

So, what is the secret?

Thanks

Murray,

Sounds like your clock adjuster is missing. I've just had my head under the dash and there's an adjuster stalk protruding from the bottom of the cylindrical clock housing. It appears to be held in place by a brass sleeve nut screwed into the housing, but I'm not brave enough to unscrew it to check !!

Let me know if you need any more info - with a little encouragement I'll take mine out and do you a sketch.

Bill.

Ahh! I shall have to look at another Y to see what I should be seeing. I will live with the clock displaying the wrong time until the Spring Run.

Cheers
