MG MG Y Type - Car cover
Unfortunately my new YA will have to sit outside. Does anyone have any experience/feedback/good sources regarding car covers? Any hints or tips greatly appreciated. Thanks Murray

I thought I might have to leave mine outside when I first bought it and after some research I found this; http://www.vertar.com/car-covers/outdoor-use/, not cheap but they were highly recommended. Luckily I found a good, dry garage to keep Y6041 in. If you ask everyone you meet and put local advertisements in local papers you may find a place to put it; they do need cosseting you know.

Sorry - I missed this one first time around! Check out the links pages at http://www.mgytypes.org, go to the Suppliers section, then Other Miscellaneous and check the link to Cover Systems. I have personal experience with their product and was absolutely delighted with them as a company. Great to deal with, and able to do ANY kind of car for full outdoor protection. Paul

My car lived outside for many years prior to moving to a house with a garage. I had a cover for it which was great but bear in mind that if you don't secure it to the car properly with the straps(as I failed to do a couple of times) they can literally get blown away in bad weather!

David is 100% right - the Cover Systems cover comes with an 'Up and Over' square lightweight galvanised frame and it is recommended that this be secured down with ground bolts if into a hard metalled surface such as concrete or asphalt, or very long pegs if ground. The wind will otherwise luff under it and the cover will move and could damage your car/injury someone or something else and you insurance policies might not cover it. The do supply full instructions though on how to do this and I had the whole deal up in less than a day of it arriving. Paul
