MG MG Y Type - BRAKE REPAIR KIT FOR YA/YT
| Hi Guys I discovered why I have a slightly sticking front near side brake.I took out the cylinder and found that one of the Crown Springs was badly bent and gentle configuration merely caused the spring to buckle and snap! As you know there are 2 crown springs and a spring which sit in cups at either end. These are 11/8" and are Lockheed Part No 3865 according to the grubby page that I have found amongst my Y Type info. A few questions: 1 Are these included in repair kits? 2 If so who is a handy supplier - I would have thought that possibly NTG might be able to help. However, I also have Past Parts phone number (they are based in Bury St Edmunds) and Coasting in Birmingham is another. 3 Has anyone a spare(s) crown spring please? Of course had it been a rear cylinder then I have two spare bronze unused cyinders from the TA - but it's not! Look forward to hearing from you. Sincerely Jerry Tel: 01926 424053 07855566325 |

| Hi Jerry The splayed crown springs were in a rebuild kit I got recently. YA/YT fronts are the same as TC rears. That being the case, you can get them from B&G, Moss Europe, etc. too. Just ask for someone to check and confirm to you that they are in the box before you place the order. Paul |
