MG MG Y Type - boot fixing plates yb
Hi all I am missing the two plates that take the 4 fixing bolts from boot to chassis on my YB, the new floor has been tack welded to the chassis. I would like to reinsate these plates, therefore could some kind member give me the dimensions (lxwxth) and also the bolt spacing-the captive nuts are still there but it is difficult to measure the pitch. I have drilled up through to get the back ones but the inside ones can't be got at! Thanks |

| Certainly. These will be added before you get up tomorrow morning GMT. I'll go and take mine out now. Paul |

| OK, there are 2 pairs as far as I can make out. One goes underneath, one on top. Here is a sillouette of the top one. Length and width is not critical, neither terribly is depth. It would be good to have the two underside ones though of about 0.2 inch thick though. The top one (actually goes inside the Spare Wheel Compartment and just acts as a "bearer" plate washer is about 0.08" thick. Again the underside ones on my car are about 6 inches long by 2.95 inches wide (the width of the chassis rail). The inside ones are slightly shorter at 4.1 inches long. The inner ones width is 1.22 inches wide. The important thing is the bolt hole distances. The bolt hole are center located in both the upper and the lower and are 3.25 inches (center to center) apart and are 0.4 inches diameter. Hope this is sufficient info for you. Paul
