MG MG Y Type - Always check
I collected the delightful Clara from her winter storage today and was told that the oil and water had been checked. About a mile down the road there was the smell of burning oil: "Clumsy, I thought, he spilt some oil, oh well the smell will go" and drove on. Not very much further on I was engulfed in clouds of blue smoke. Time for a hasty stop at a very convenient pull-off. Under the bonnet in quick time to see the oil filler cap not in place and oil being thrown in all directions. Problem easily rectified and I drove on in a blue cloud as the oil burnt off. At least the underseal has been done for this season. A few miles later the windscreen was covered in water drops but the day was fine. Another stop to firmly tighten the radiator cap which was not even hand tight. Hey ho! But we made it home OK and the odometer ticked over 111000 as we neared home.

Nice day to get it out, are you bringing the Y along to Brooklands on Sunday for the MG Era day? There should be at least 4 other Y's attending. Ted Gardner

Ted, Count me in I will be there too!

We have decided to visit the MG gathering at Arundel Castle as it is one Castle we have not seen yet, so that will be an LE500 trip. Besides, the Y needs a tune before venturing too far afield.
