MG MG Y Type - 2010 Spring Run

Thanks Jerry & Jo.

What cracker weather for a run. Sorry we had to skip out early - back to London just after 1900 after 200 trouble-free miles. (A bit of a record for us.)

There are a few photos from the weekend at:

Thanks for the comments Murray. Glad to hear you got back with no problems. The weather was fantastic as your pics bear testament.

25 Y's attended and 3 owners sans Y's were also in attendance.

The voting for the 'Y thatI would like to take home with me' wasas follows:

NTG CUP YA BILL BENNETT
BILL ATKINSON CUP YB RICHARD KNIGHT
YT STEERING WHEEL* MIKE SILK
*It's only a replica steering wheel (3 in diameter) on a plinth!!!

PISTON BROKE AWARD ALAN CHICK

As I had to be pushed (duff starter motor) and had misfiring problems (rotor arm and points -thanks Derek for all your help)then I guess I should havewon it! But as the organiser I changed the rules and awarded to Alan (and Mary) for their regular attendance over the years and of course they are a wonderful couple. What I hadn't appreciated that Alan has owned his YB for 51 years - some thing of a record.

Once again this event proved its popularity and Jo's choice of Herefordshire and the route (as a change from the Cotswolds) turned out to be inspirational. Brilliant weekend with 42 at the Dinner, lovely people, lovely cars and lovely weather - what more could be asked for?

Jo is recommending the Peak District next year -might see some of you Northern Y Typers there - eh Malcolm!

Sincerely

Jerry

Excellent photos of what looked like a superb day. I would love to have been there too, but took some consolation from seeing GBX166 still going strong and looking very well cared for.

Andrew,
I'll say GBX is being well cared for; that's pure Evian water that Gillie is cleaning the bugs off the windscreen with. Nothing but the best!
