MG MG Y Type - 1949 YA for sale on e-bay

Hi Guys

There is a 1949 Y for sale on e-bay:

MG YA, 1949, INCREDIBLY ORIGINAL, LOVELY PATINA Item number: 160333460831

It looks interesting but has been in storage for many years - possibly the 1960's. I e-mailed the vendors before it went on e-bay having been advised by Paul Barrow. It's being sold by a Dealer and the initial pic looks very interesting.I have asked for the chassis no etc to see if it is known to the Register.

I would imagine having looked at more pics on e-bay that there is likely to be a lot of work to do. This includes work on door bases,and probably sills, rear wheel arch etc.

The car is complete and the interior probably could be improved with a very thorough cleaning, The engine is believed to have been re-built.

I had thought about having a look at it but dont feel its worth £3.5k. It'll be interesting to track progress on e-bay. Like any car it's very much a case of having a look at the car and taking a decision.It's based to the south of Swindon.
