MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Timing Pointer?
Can anyone point me to who sells those "on top" wire type pointers that fit on to the timing chain cover please? This is so you don't have to lift the car up and crawl underneath to check alignment with the pulley, instead you have the luxury of viewing it from above. I've had a look through the archives but I cannot trace the thread - with a link to the suppliers - it was mentioned in.

I think that most people just make their own. Or you can fit the timing chain cover from a Mini, which has a serrated pointer scale at an appropriate position.

Thanks Guy, yes I'm aware of that but I can remember seeing somewhere a pointer for use with that scale.

Here in the US: http://advanceddistributors.com/ Maybe distributor doctor over there?
Trevor Jessie
Ah yes Trevor thanks, that's very much the type of pointer I was thinking of. Does anyone know if they're available in the UK?

it would be a cheap ship to the UK. To be honest I have personal experiance with the swiftune SW 5 camshaft being sent from the UK to the USA faster then I can mail a letter to my Nieabor across the street Via the postal system... plus you have the pound /dollar exchange rate in your favor
