MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Sump gasket and seam sealer

A couple of quick questions (not had time to search :-/)

1. Had to remove the sump again on my car due to a slight leak from the gasket. The original gasket was a thicker wax paper type, is it still possible to obtain these (for a 1500), else I'll get another of the thin card type ones but they seem a bit crappy?

2. I need to get some seam sealer to run down the join between floor pan and sill on the underside - any recommendations on a product, else I'm choosing via the ebay-random-factor?

Thanks in advance.

Dave. If you go to your local bodyshop supplies shop, they will be able to sell your a brushable seam sealer. I used a half inch brush to apply it. It shrinks as it dries. If you want it really neat you can mask off the run, then remove the tape straight after you've applied the sealer. Good makes are 3M, Tetrosyl, Sikkens.

Dave - I've got a similar problem with my MGB sump gasket. The one Moss have supplied is a lot thinner than the original. I've trawled the internet but can't find anything similar to the original so I plan to use the Moss gasket plus some Hylomar Blue jointing compound.
