MG Midget and Sprite Technical - rear axle leak
| Hi all, The rebuild saga continues as I notice more and more stuff that needs work! The rear axle is leaking at both of the brake backing plates and also at the propshaft entry point. SLIGHTLY annoyed tbh as it wasn't last week, all we've done is fired the engine up, selected gear and ran it with the wheels on stands for around 10 seconds to check for anything catastrophic. So whtas the best bet? rebuild or replace? or upgrade for any future k series plans? If a replacement/upgrade is required whats the costs involved and different options for upgrades? Many Thanks Daniel |

| oil seals are a consumable and do not seal for life. The ones behind the halfshaft flange are simple to replace, the one on the nose of the diff less so. In both cases there's plenty of tips in the archive, a search will turn up good info. |
