MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Quarter elliptical spring floor question
I'm just derusting & painting my floor inside prior to new carpets. What do people normally do with the gaps between the lower part of the floor stiffening flutes and the longitudinal strengthener . Presently mine are open and this has lead to water getting isnide the longitudinal strengthener and it now looks like there is quite a bit of rust in there. I'm inclined to fill the gaps with seam sealer (the strengthener has vent holes on the top so it will still breathe). Your thoughts would be much appreciated.

Left mine open, well sprayed with dinitrol, I thought it would be better that any water could get out f it got in. Paul

Jeremy, Firstly I would treat any rust in there with Wurth rust treatment, then as Paul suggests either Dinitrol, Waxoil or other similar products, or you could use a seam sealer, but that may not be as effective as the for mentioned... Mark.

Is there enough room to drill a drain hole or two under the runner? Breather holes in the top won't do as much as letting the water out. If there's not enough space for that, then a good coat of de-ruster and zinc primer will help preserve things.
