MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Mini intake

I would like to put a pair of HS4 carbs (1 1/2") SU's on my 1275 Bugeye the intake I have is from a Mini part # c-aeg489 I know the Mini & Sprite are different angles 20 degrees for a Sprite and 30 for the Mini I have the fuel bowl mounting rubber that will correct the angle bu I read someplace that the carb tops might hit the bonnet has anyone done this,

I run twin 1.5 SU's on my Sebring Sprite rep. I had a firm called Classic Cars of Kent (who are actually in Sussex) modify an MGB inlet manifold so that the carbs would fit under the bonnet as a friend had clearance problems on his frogeye with the same carbs. I took his lead.
