MG Midget and Sprite Technical - High Ethanal Fuels
| High Ethanol fuels are being introduced this year, and from what I have been reading, its not going to do us any favours especially if your vehicle spends a long time b etween runs. Does anyone have any ideas, tips, advice on how we can overcome the problems I see developing. It attacks the metals a carburettor is made of and causes rust in tanks and damages old rubber seals, etc. As yet I have not had a problem running on fuel with 2.5%ethanol but the % is going up to 5% Mike |

| If all you have to deal with is 5%, consider yourself lucky, we've been dealing with 10% for a while now here in the States. Fortunately, I've been able to find ethanol free fuel locally & really haven't had to deal with the problem that much. But the Feds plan to put an end to ALL ethanol free fuel here very soon, so before it's all over, we'll all be in the same boat! You will find less performance & lower fuel mileage with the ethanol blend in our older cars. Good Luck... |
