MG Midget and Sprite Technical - Head gasket glue?
I've been sacanning the archives for head gasket info (Payen black seems to be the current reliable favourite on a 1275), and keep seeing references to HG adhesive. Now I have never used hg glue before and not had a problem (books say no glue advised or neccessary), but wonder if I am missing something. What's the concensus on gluing your head down?

Never used it.

Payen BK450 doesn't need it. I used a copper gasket spray instead of a gasket between spacer plate and head on the K (and just the one gasket between spacer and block) when we lowered the compression for the supercharger, it has been excellent. But BK450 works perfectly well without any goo even on race engines so why go any further.

Id think a glue on the payen black composit HG, would be a negitive as the payens have a coating / film that squishes down when torqued and then melts when heated....so an adhisive id think would be more of a contaminate

Thought that was the case, glad it still is. Cheers.
