MG Midget and Sprite Technical - clutch
| I changed the smooth cage for a rib cage. Since then the 6.25 clutch only just engages. I think it is because the flywheel of my 948 cc frogeye has been lightened the wrong way. The clutch fork hits the hole in bell house so the slave cylinder can’t push no further. What to do? 1 Buying a new lightened flywheel 2 Bend the clutch fork 3 Buy a higher release bearing 1 Expensive 2 Cheap and easy but not strong 3 How high in mm or inch (axis to clutch surface) is the Peter May item? | There are 3 different release bearing depths, details helpfully listed by Kim Dear and Dave O'Neil on the recent "Warning: 1275 release bearings" thread |

| Thank you Paul, the solution is in this thread indeed The difference is in the distance from the lugs to the face of the carbon bearing: Part numbers:- 948 - GRB101 13 mm 1098 - GRB102 21 mm 1275 - GRB107 24 mm So does the Peter May item have 24 mm offset? Flip |
