MG Midget and Sprite Technical - bearing 'thrust' face

Hi All,
Just a quick one..
front wheel bearings..
does the face marked "thrust" sit against the spacer or are the faces oriented the other way round?

Well if you had a Haynes manual it would tell you ...

"If the THRUST markings are on the bearing outer races, the markings must face each other. If they are on the INNER races, they must point away from each other.( The position of the markings may vary according to the bearing manufacturer)"

The Moss (US) catalog has a drawing that shows the orientation. Just be aware that it is a drawing of the "B" and not a Spridget. But the bearing orientation is correct.

Mj,

Id say "T" may have one but he uses it so regularly that the bindings may have come loose and pages lost, and may have it fully greased up from being well used so the pages arent readable

the point is if you take your car to a shop to be serviced all the time Your manual will all ways be in pristine condition... just like your manual.

Prop...Smoke on that for a while!

Hi MJ et al..
Yep, I do have an oily manual, its just I have a couple of "restoration" books that seem to be unclear..
So I came to drink at the fountain of all knowledge!
Thanks for the help.
Cheers
