MG Midget and Sprite Technical - back axle plugs
Hi, does anybody know if you can get diff plugs with a hex like modern cars instead of the horrible square that rounds off. Thanks

Yes, how many do you want?

You can certainly get 3/8th BSP plugs with a square male end that you can siply put a spanner on.

Most gearbox / backaxle plugs are British Standard Pipe (BSP). Homebase or your local plumbers merchants can supply plugs in steel or brass with a suitable hex head for a spanner.

A hexagon socket is preferable to hex head, as it is more suited to lifting with a trolley jack under the axle.

Dave has a good point about the drain plug sticking out too much, even with a hexagon socket mine only go in a few threads so the drain plug I cut down a bit thanks to all on here helping me previously I got the correct sized 3/8" drain key I bought a multidrain plug before and found it not to be a good fit on the 1/2" square socket
