MG Midget and Sprite Technical - 5' Wire wheels

Just to let everybody know, MWS are about to produce a 5" wide wire wheel (primarily for the historic race boys who want a wider rim for the 4.50L Dunlop racing tyre). But it will also open up more tyre choice for anybody else wanting to retain wire wheels. They should fit square arch cars as well. They've been tested by several prominent historic racers (well done Gordon!). The only draw back is the cost- the thick end of £200 each!. Available shortly.

Any idea how much they weigh?

Is this a tubeless wire wheel? At some I'll be selling my 5.5"wire wheels take a tube.

Trevor, I hav'nt seen one yet to weigh it, but I'm sure MWS will have details.
Daniel, From the part number I've been quoted, they appear to be tubed, but check with MWS to confirm. (The 5.5" wheel they list is shown as tubeless)
