MG Midget and Sprite Technical - 1500 gearbox checks

dear all,

i have a spare gearbox that on recent close examination i think might have been rebuilt or at very least looks to be in good conditions, in taking off the bolts from the housing they all semm to be brand new and all gearing looks in good order and all gears engage. to prevent me taking a risk is there any walk through tests that i could perform or anyone around glasgow i could give the box to and for a resonable fee to have checked out?
