MG Midget and Sprite Technical - 1275 Tach Prob
| The tach in my 72 1275 is not working. Any suggestions? |

| check that the loop of wire on the induction sensor hasn't become dislodged. Happened to mine once and repositioning it an tightening up the thumb nut cured the problem. |

| The last time mine stopped working, i actually had to take it apart and re-solder a TINY wire inside the case. (doable, but took me 3 hours to figure out where it needed fixing!) That said, the most common reason for the tach to not work is bad earth/ground. The tach grounds through the housign getting a solid ground to the metal of the dash (at least in US dash), so if the mounting brackets are a little loose, it can lose the ground. |
