MG Midget and Sprite General - Would it fit...
http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=24659 Looks a bit tall but that could be because it has just 3 cylinders
Onno Könemann
Join 2 to give a nice 6-cyl! A
Anthony Cutler
How much HP could someone get out of a turbo 948 A-series?
Trevor Jessie
That depends what the crank is made from!
D O'Neill
chrome clutch, nice! where can I get one of those?! Malcolm
Malcolm Le Chevalier
Malcome.... You would have to steal a ford focas 2012 Thats impressive. And 56 mpg...aint half bad...i wouldnt mind a minor bonnent buldge for that piece of eye candy How hard would it be to hook up a 5 or 6 speed ??? Im assuming thats front wheel drive Prop
Prop
The rear looks easly adaptable so any 5 or 6 speed with an appropriate inputshaft would be doable
Onno Könemann
Ford get 125 bhp out of 1000cc? PAH! I've been doing that with Climax engines for over 20 years!
Deborah Evans
That's true Deb but ont with those service intervals and that amount of torque ;) Are you still making alloy hubs with taper bearings?
Onno Könemann
Onno, Of course I COULD do Turbo Climaxes ;), it's just that they aren't allowed by the Race regs. I plan to be making the next batch of hubs early in the new year, probably around late February time.
Deborah Evans
if it is a competition then the prize would go to the BRABHAM BMW BT52 This car had an engine that was only 1.5 litre and was said to produce a staggering 1000 BHP in qualifying trim!!! and that was in 1983 almost 30 years ago!! admittedly from 1.5 litres LOL
Robert (Bob) Midget Turbo
... and MG were finding nearly 300 bhp from 1100cc in 1938/9... still, nothing really beats the latest moderns for torque and durability (direct injection, variable cams, ...) A
Anthony Cutler
Debs I'll mail you about them becaus one of my hubs is gone
Onno Könemann
Ant 300BHP is pushing it a bit from the K or N's The most developed was the 750cc delivering 110BHP out of the box. However with the twincam head etc this sure went up a bit ;)
Onno Könemann
Hey debs Can you please also.... Email me a ball park price tag on the aluminim hubs also...im running the 40 degree angular bearings They would also be on 7/16 inch studs instead .of 3/8th Thanks dear Prop Prop46 (at) gmail (dot) com
Prop
Better still, could you post a ball park figure for the cost here? They sound interesting.
Lawrence Slater
Alloy hubs? Was thinking about them on the way to work this morning in a sort of 'how hard could it be to get some made, if only I still had access to a machine shop' They sound interesting. If perhaps a bit overkill for my current rebuild. Malcolm
Malcolm Le Chevalier
Hey lawerance Debs thinks im a seriously special kind of guy....no doulbt she is going to want to give me a crazy discount price.... It would probably just be embarresing if you knew the deal she wants to give me....hahahaha Prop
Prop
Thats probably Deb just taking pity on you Prop! ;-) Malcolm
Malcolm Le Chevalier
Malcom It seems overkill but is the only option. A lot of hubs are worn today (alot are misdiagnosed as worn bearings) and with no new normal ones specialy made alloy ones are the only option.
