MG Midget and Sprite General - Wot I done yesterday

North Weald Sprint on a new and much improved course however as it's faster with less twists and tight turns, it's less suited to my car than the old course.
I came 2nd in class but as there were also only two cars in my class, I also came last in my class!

sorry about the wind noise.

Looks and sounds nice. I sometimes have wind noise in my Midget at speed, but it's usually drowned out by the wind noise.

Gary,

Good work, thanks for sharing. My last time out I was put in class with four Honda Civic's. God knows how much power they were making, but stock they were more than my Midget and I finished third. My problem, besides stock tires, in (SCCA-Novice) autocross has always been the non-syncro first, never learnt to double-clutch and slow turns in second gear kill my times.

Larry, what sort of speeds do you get up to on your autocross?

Could you use a shorter diff ratio to improve second gear response?
Dave O'Neill 2

Dave,

Thank you for the suggestion. I've only done this on occasion as a club event, and it's great fun. I must admit to being a novice at best concentrating more to stay on course, laughing all the way around. Our car is completly stock down to the 145R/13 tyres, and at my age I doubt serious competition is in my future. But who knows, number one son has had his eye on PON307G for years, perhaps she will race on in his hands one day?
