MG Midget and Sprite General - Wire stone guards for brake hoses

Does anyone know of a source of supply for wire spiral stone guards for the front brake hoses of my Midget ? There are signs of my tyres rubbing against the brake hoses. We used to use these on our rally cars in the 60's

bit of fuel pipe or similar split and popped over the brake pipe also works. Though they probably shouldn't catch under normal circumstances..

I got mine from a scrap yard a few years ago. They were on a Peugeot 205 so maybe they were standard fitment on 205s?

Alter the angle the hoses are clamped at, as they enter the calipers. You might have to file the slot in the metal guard a bit wider.

The other thing you can do, is put a very slight twist in the hose as it comes out of the joint at the chassis.

I had this issue. On full lock I rubbed the hoses. I cured it as above.
