Crap Prop, just take the key out and use a circuit tester!

Prop,
None of the five open posts that are in that photo are hot.

The top fuse has a hot brown wire coming in from the right side of the photo, so the viol;et leads off that fuse on the left side are what you are after, but they are all taken and more load on that fuse would not be a great idea, although driving your relay would probably be ok.

The second fuse is fed on the right by the white wire from the ignition switch. The open post on the left side is only hot when the ignition switch is on.

The bottom two fuses are BOTH for the marker lights. The red/green on the left comes from the headlight switch and is hot whenever the headlight switch is in any position other than off (or broken).

Bottom line is that you will need to run another line from the brown post of the starter solenoid (if you still have one) through an inline fuse. Not hard and not necessarily ugly.

Thanks david

At this point i think ill just come straight off the battry with an in-line 20 amp fuse

This project is really taking its toll and I need it to end tomarrow... im sick n tired of thinking about wiring all the time 24/7.... i cant belive its been 6 months already.

I still cant belive i was thinking 2 weekends and 5 evenings in between.

But the hidden wiring sure looks awsome. I just hope when this project ends its going to be worth the raging head ache ive been dealing with scence sunday... as a result of this last push to bring an end.

Ive really devoloped a serious problem on this stupid car..perfection.... gez i keep thinking after the fact that this s a hobby, and perfection is not needed. But for what ever reason i have a hard time remembering that as im working

I just dont understand my brain .... the only place i stive for excellance and perfection is my work.. and this stupid idiot car... everything else in my lifeis duck tape and bailing wire without a secound thought.

The only reason i can figure for this mental difficecancy is because i view them both as art.... its one thing to spend 1/2 hour on one rough door frame to establish the perfect paint line.... but its another to spend 6 months wiring in a bunch of aftermarket crap...i just cant belive it.... anyway its 90% done tomarrow... down to just some cool switches and one last gauge with sensors to finish.... hopefully ill have that done by midget 50 but im taking a break from thinking about this... at least a month.. and just drive for a change.

Prop

Just drive the ruddy thing without the console then!

Prop please stick to the normal for now and worry about other things next winter - you have Midget50USA soon and this rate you're going to miss it in persuit of perfection that can never be attained in an MG - they didn't even come out the factory like that!

Chill and drive :)

Prop and I have exchanged some e-mail this morning and I think we have him on the right track with the wiring. I think he's just having one of those days where he can't find anything like his Haynes manual, or his test meter, etc. I can't guarantee that he'll make it to our version of Midget 50, but I'll try as much as I can to see that he gets the car running and ready to go. We still have almost two months left before the event. I know for Prop that isn't long at all, but he should be able to make it. LOL

Yepp im gonna be there for sure... room is already reserved at victorian village.

Thanks to bills help... i can finally proceed to finishing his thing up today

Thank god.

Lol.

Prop

Thanks guys
Prop

Prop,
You really do NOT want to attach it to the battery. Corrosion is not your friend. Attach it with the brown lead at the starter solenoid.

David, great minds think alike, that's the same place I suggested since the existing terminals were already full on the fuse block. Soon all the lights in the central part of the US will dim as Prop turns on his 10 gauge panel and drops the entire power grid.

Hey Prop,

Electronics aside, how much actual road testing have you done in "The Black Hole Midget" in preparation for this trip to Wisconsin?

Bill,
I think it is simply a matter of trying not to make the same mistakes over and over. Life is too short for that ;-)

Larry,

About 75 miles.... lol. Yeah im going to be putting in some serious road time before much longer.

Well i didnt make it too day.... i got the consel 1/2 way in and only about 8 wires left to connect. And hook up the vac hoses n the engine bay.... and a few other odds and ends... but i just kept hitting severly pissed off mode about 3 times today... i gave up and will try agiaon tomarrow....aside from looking for bear all day.. i got some of the harder stuff done and out of the way.

It is what it is.... oh well.
