MG Midget and Sprite General - Wheelarch flares a la MGB Sebring

Does anyone know of a kit of flares for the Midget like the MGB Sebring?

Thinking about them for the V8. If I get them on in the summer, I was going to send the shell away for painting and let someone else make it look perfect :)

Mr Griffiths from bradford is working on a set!

No, he's working on completely flared arches. I want the bulges.

Like the pic (kindly borrowed from www.berlin-classics.de)

Inspired into activity by last weekend Matt? Or still just "thinkin" ?!

Some older Modsports racers had them, I believe they used MK1 Escort bubble arches, which are fairly easy to buy from the usual fibreglass panel people.

sorry my input isnt to help but just wanted to point out as it seems a common mistake, that sebring MGB' never had flared wheel arches, this was only the works Sebring (among other races of course) MGC's (GT's). there was one mgb gt at sebring that was works prepared LBL but this never had flared arches, all other mgbs were roadsters with bolt on hard tops and no flared arches, MBL of course on its first outing was fitted with a bored out 2 litre b series engine (hence the mgb bonnet not c bonnet in the early pictures), but mbl was a mgc as it had rolled off the line as one, with torsion bar suspension and all mgc fittings and tub etc, the b series engine fitted was to test the new set up before the main and proper race preped C series engine went in.

not a real bug bare of mine but just thought id post as people genuinely dont know that (okay very technicaly) these flares arent mgb flares, well inspired any way lol i suppose there referanced as such as they are fitted more and more by mgbs that want to look like mgcs complete with bonnet lol

if ive been a nuisance i will get my coat and sit in the corner.

Nice example at midget 50 too.

I like the dark blue one a lot! Very nice indeed.

Hi
1 flip front and 2 rear wheel arch panels in the back garden using MK2 Escort arches pity your not in Northern Ireland.

The ones we have on the racer came from Peter May.

They were a bit of a pig to fit (it took me a week to get all four right) but look quite good I think (see vehicle profile).

I like bill Youngs arches, a bit finer then the mgb-sebring.

Arie de Best

or mallorca-Ben's very fine frontwingarches.

Or what about Stuarts arches?

My personal favorite are the ones from the Steve Naish's Yamaha-powered midget.

Arie de Best

I don't know why but I just love the arches on the Sebring MGC. Looks perfect but the car is bigger than the midget so maybe carries it off better.

Dom - thanks for the info! Interesting to know. So I suppose that is why the sebrings I have seen have the MGC bonnet. Easy to put one on a B or a V8 to get the look rather than using an original MGC.
Whats the MBL you mention?
