MG Midget and Sprite General - what size bolts for the bonnet lid

Hey guys

I just realized ive lost my hardware for the bonnet lid that mounts to the hinges... any ideas what size i need ?

Its a USA spec with siessor hinges.... 71 midget

I need thread count, length/dia and if its metric or SAE

DO THESE need to be grade 5, or just common off the shelf ?.... im planning on doing stainless ... to match everything else...although chrome might not be a bad choice to add some eye candy and prevent rust welding

Thanks guys

UK bonnet is secured by 1/4UNF x 5/8". I think yours is the same, just half the number of screws.

Prop,

Yes, use grade 5. Grade 2 is only for things that don't matter if they strip or break. Grade 5 is easy to get. Most NAPA stores have bolt bins with grade 5, as would a tractor supply store. Big box home improvement stores have them to, but only in little drawers, and they are often out of the size you need.
