MG Midget and Sprite General - Was This a Good Idea?
| This Frogeye had an Alfa Romeo engine and gearbox fitted. I can't help thinking that they didn't really think it through!

wow, some interesting work there, almost catching up a professional specialist operation :)

What the heck is that...???

Aluminium oil pan.

I wouldn't worry about the sump being hit, as much as the whole thing rusting away. The owner obviously doesn't like paint and underseal. :). I'd love to see the engine in and out routine with that too. lol

Agree, it just shows the benefit of a good oily A series! How on earth would one fit that oil cooler sump anyway?

It is interesting for sure...but id think you would at least want to build a steel cage around it But... It makes the perfect mud dobbers and red wasp nesting ground Heck maybe even honey bees would like to use it as a hang out Prop

Talk about little or NO ground clearance...! Not an easy sump to fit when it's on an engine stand (I've built many of these) so I can't imagine how it would be fitted with engine in situ.. I had an MGA some years ago with an Alfa engine, gearbox and rear axle... That was a nice car to drive..! Mark.
