MG Midget and Sprite General - US Mk III Moto-lita boss
| Hi, Yet another question - probably more for the stateside folks. I have a new Moto-lita wheel to replace the rather old and delaminating wooden one that the PO has. I ordered what I thought was the right boss for it - Moto-Lita boss B25C/H (for 72 onwards Midgets, mine's late 72). However it doesn't seem that this boss, although it fits on the column itself correctly, is right for my (originally US) GAN5UC. Basically the car I have has the US spec indicator and wash/sipe stalks on the column, and the boss fouls on these quite a lot. To the point where if I torque it up with the cowl and switchgear on, it will torque up against the cowl and render the stalks impossible to move. Removing cowl and switchgear and the boos torques up nicely on the tapered column. Any advice for a moto-lita (compatible?) boss for this generation of US MG? Thanks again all, OSM. |

| Failing any advice on part numbers and the like - do any of our stateside friends have a 72 or 73 with a motolita boss that they could take a photo of? My understanding is that the wiper/indicator stalk setup is US specific for that generation - and I'd been keen to see any motolita bosses fitted with such a setup to get an idea of what could be needed. Any help or advice greatly appreciated. Thanks, OSM |
