MG Midget and Sprite General - trunnion torque values
I'm in the process of installing some Peter May neg. camber trunnions but I can't seem to find the proper torque values for the trunnion and swivel pin nuts. I know it must be in my manual somewhere, but I can't seem to find it (I guess if I wasn't looking for it, the book would open to the right page!). If someone could provide those values, I would certainly appreciate it! Jack

Hey Jack According to haynes Page 215 ... 3rd spec from the bottom of the spec section just above (1. genral dsecription) Trunnion retaining Nut ... 40 foot lbs I hope that helped BTW... did you get the Barry kign wishbones (the premiume ones)? Prop

40 foot lbs ... That sure seems like alot to me! Id get a 2nd opinion before you sench em up that tight... Cause im not sure thats grade 8 metal.. and stipping those theads would make for a long day. BTW... I used a Nyloc instead of the castle nut with cotter pin set up... that was like 6 years ago, and still no issue.. others may dis-agree... something to consider. Prop
