Hey, Prop. I'm fine. It was a nervous night with almost full time weather on all channels during the night tracking all the storms. I've never been watching TV weather when they would continue to say, there is a tornado on the ground at so and so now, go right now into your basement or to the center of your house and cover up with pillows or a mattress or whatever you can. This went on for hours as the storms moved about 60 MPH. It crossed through north west Georgia from Alabama but luckily for us passed about 30 miles north west of me. We got rain and wind but were a lot luckier than some folks. I went to the basement, put the cover over the Midget and hoped I would see it in the morning! Needless to say, I didn't sleep too well.

It looked unbeleivable. I feel sorry for anyone in it's path and hope that they can eventually get their lives back to how it was before it hit.

In this part of the USA (central and southeast) we take April Showers pretty seriously. Our location makes us vulnerable to weather generated when cold air masses from Canada interact with warm, moist air coming up from the Gulf of Mexico, and fireworks often result. It's pretty much normal for thunderstorm warnings, including the threat of damaging hail, to air over TV and radio during spring. One of our now-regular routines is to drive a car or two to a hospital parking garage about three blocks away when we hear storm warnings. Our own garage can only accommodate one family car, plus the MG. So my MINI and our son's car were safely under cover when the last storm moved through - the one that savaged the St. Louis Airport, 15 miles away, along with several neighborhoods and businesses. And yes, he and I stood on the front porch watching the storm until a gale force wind and driving rain forced us back inside. Here in Missouri there were no fatalities, but the southeast has had it much worse, and I can only offer condolences to families who have lost loved ones and homes. -:G:-

I just got electricity at midnight. No more camping in my back yard/living room. By the massive destruction I have seen, it was coming directly at my house (and my Daughter) but went up and changed course slightly North. Almost demolished a complete neighborhood and flattened a large grocery store. Seven people were swept out of the store and their bodies were found about a quarter of a mile away. Everyone has been helping clear debris and whatever needed. I'm getting good with a chain saw. I was lucky to have gotten home the day after, but spent the entire day airport hopping to get from Orlando to Huntsville. I got real lucky on this one, the Daughter, the Midget and the house were all spared any damage. Alot of families weren't so lucky. Jack Orkin, I'm glad you and Kathy were also spared. More rain today. Rik Holeman
