MG Midget and Sprite General - top gear
just watching tonights top gear, and Jezza is driving an updated jensen interceptor. its got new (modern) suspension, brakes and engine -BUT it still has its original registration!! Hmmmm
Mick struggling with the wiring
I thought the same thing Mick. But then again if you don't cut into the chassis or modify it it anyway don't you have enough points to qualify to keep the reg?

My MGB has a Range Rover engine and gearbox, Ford Granada differential, Hoyle independent front and rear suspension, 4-pot front brakes and rear wheel disc brakes. It still has its original registration because the body hasn't changed. Nobody batted an eyelid when I re-registered it at my local DVLA office.

Mikes' B is AWESOME - and the Hoyle suspension is fantastic - and no, there wasn't really a photo of me crawling underneath it at Silverstone ;) All things aside, it's back to the question of what is a modification and what is a rebuild, and, when you look at Mikes' car, you wouldn't know that it's any different to the next nice MGB. Nowadays, the rest of the world has changed, so, things that make them better on the road (brakes, suspension, wheels, tyres etc - and yes, after all that, then engine too!) isn't anything wrong - better than driving a death trap - and even better than letting them just go into nothingness
