Fitted my new tank at last and filled up yesterday with 11.5 GALLONS

Yes I will get some pictures posted shortly but Arie out of curiosity what is the capacity of your frontline tank?

Ant I have booked in with Dennis at Aldons for the RR will you be there this year?
Bob Turbo Midget England

Hi Bob

Not sure re plans this year; but certainly don't need BRB on the 'road' again since I've done no mods since last year.

If I'm free, will turn up for the fun of seeing ASeries and KSeries at full chat.

Anthony may not be bringing his car - but I will! I hope to meet you there, Bob.
Chris H (1970 Midget 1275)

Bob, its either a 9.5 or 9 gallon tank, my guess is its a 9 gallon tank.
Im now wandering where you have put the extra gallons/litres, the boot?removed exhaust?more to the back/rearpanel?
Arie de Best

Hi Arie

Yes I do not have a second silencer acroos the back and have used that area to extend the tank. It is angled up at the rear but is still below the level of the rear valance. Also it is 1" deeper than the original. Not forgot the photos. :)

Having just driven 700 miles across France and having to stop every 130 miles for fuel I'm defiantly in the market for a 50 litre tank!!!! More info please Bob.

An hour and a half bob?

6 gallon tank, at 35 mpg cruising, gives over 200 miles. How fast are you going!
Tarquin

LOL

Hi Tarq

OK but First you need to make sure you have enough fuel to reach a fuel station. To me that means from 4 gallons onwards ie 2 gallons avalable assuming you can use the full 6! (French petrol stations on the main routes can be 30 miles plus between)

So 4 gallons at a steady 70MPH will run out in 2 hours at 35 MPG.
