MG Midget and Sprite General - sills

midgets with sills painted black. was this a factory thing or is it what owners have done.

Depends on the year and model. As far as I know here in the US all the MKIIIs and IVs had black painted sills, with the later MKIVs having matching black paint behind the rear wheel arch.

factory
black with chrome(?) side strip above and continues after the rear wheel at an angle

but do what you want, body colour, no strip after rear wheel, stone guard in body or different colour

GAN5 and HAN10 from October '69 had black sills
