MG Midget and Sprite General - removing bumpers / does it affect insurance cover

Im thinking of removing the bumpers from my midget 1500 and was wondering if anybody knows if it affects your insurance cover .
I intend to ask my insurance company but wondered if anybody has had any probs with insurance companies for removing the bumpers

You shouldn't have any problems but yes you do have to tell them
