MG Midget and Sprite General - Relief!
For those of you who were aware that Lois (my Girlfriend) was in Libya. I'm relieved to say that she was one of the 78 people who managed to hitch a lift on the BP flight which landed at Gatwick at 7.00am this morning. Apart from being a bit tired, she's fine and although there were some terrible scenes by all accounts. She is as calm and untraumatised as usual. Gary

glad to hear that, although we've never met. <<She is as calm and untraumatised as usual.>> when my wife is in that sort of state I normally take her for a blast in the Midget. Soon restores the status quo!

Gary and Lois that is brilliant news, the best I have had all year. So pleased our prayers were answered this morning. hooray!

That is really good news from watching the news it appears civility towards outsiders is fickle at best... one journalist was treated like a rock god hero and preaded thur town with cheering from a glorious crowd throwing dates and candy, an hour later just down the road another journalist was cowering in a darkened hotel room whispering to the camera Dates and candy???.... Mmmm Perhaps at dinner he was ON the menu, and not there for the.... OHhhh!

Extremely good news Gary - You remained very cool on Sunday at MG Stoneleigh but the clue could have been your compulsive eating disorder !

Thats great news Gary, Glad that Lois got home safely,

Many thanks for your replies. It's an amazing world. Less than 24 hours ago she was in Tripoli Airport emptying dreggs of water bottles into hers so as to have enough to drink and tonight we had a chinese meal delivered to our house and a bottle of wine. Spare a thought for those left behind as well as those who live in societies with so much less freedom than ours.

"societies with so much less freedom than ours." You mean the Scots, Welsh and north Irish? LOL!! I might have started a flame-war on here.... Id better get my coat... :)

You're a brave chap Arie! Pleased for you Gary. Can't imagine how you could stay remoteley calm in that situation. Relief indeed :)

Gary Glad to hear she's safe Poor job by our government in taking their eye off the ball when other governments were evacuating their citizens from a potential civil war zone with extreme expedition... JB

>>>>>>>>Poor job by our government in taking their eye off the ball when other governments were evacuating their citizens from a potential civil war zone with extreme expedition...<<<<<<< LOL Yeah but your people got out... Ours (USA) are still having hopes of a fairy tale endding, as in the first of 8000 are stuck on a ferry boat waiting for calmer seas lower then 6 ft swells to abondane the country of lybia. Our people were told to go to tripolie and hunker down, and the state department will get them out... TRIPOLIE ??? Really ??? SERIOUSLY !!... Hello USA gov. are you watching CNN? So bullets flying, Lybian air craft scraffing, poisen gas soon to be released, ... and our citizens have to make a run for it thur the streets of TRIPOLIE to get to a "Fairy boat" (notice how I spelled ferry) that cant swim thur larger seas swells then 6 feet. I really have to think that naked little boys running thur the vatican would stand a much higher chance of escaping moletation....GEZ, Im so inspired Prop

Prop LOL!!! Do you think that will be the new generation episodes of "the love boat", captain Stubing sailing a ferrie with a bunch Americans from Tripoli straight to the US avoiding anything bigger then 6ft? LOL!!
Arie de Best
Gary, Great news - was a bit concerned when you mentioned it at Stoneleigh - massive relief for you. So BP got it right !!!! R.

more great news, and relief... we the USA finally got out... thank god. Not kidding, I had visions of 1979 iran hostage crisis all over agian and that would have been isane seeing that many americans spread out all over the middle east for years to come

Fantastic news for you both Gary However knowing your social conscience it does not suprise me to hear you worry about the Foreign nationals still to be released and the millions whose only crime was being born in Lybia. They have nowhere to run and we can only put our faith in humanity (dont go to church I am afraid so do not pray) that they will be spared. Again great news.

Only just spotted this Gazza... Such good news & glad you got Lois home safe n sound. I guess she wont be returning any time soon! Lets hope Mr Gadaffi and his buddies have a crisis of conscience very soon and the region sees some stability for the sake of the whole world.

It looks like you guys in the uk have more to lose then us in the USA if gadaffi goes down....from what Ive been reading and watching on tv, lybia mainly produces sweet crude which is the main type of oil to make desial fuel, and Im guessing diesal is the main form of fuel in the UK... Thats what they where discussing ealier today on the news still its going to suck bigtime when that country falls, I just hope nato and the usa dont feel the need to go nation building, I belive the lybians have all the intelect and motivation needed to decide what type of gov they want. Its not our business to decide for them. just my opinion Prop
