MG Midget and Sprite General - Prop, DO NOT READ THIS!
A friend sent this link to me with what might well be the worlds worst example of a modified Sprite. Hope Prop doesn't get any ideas from it.

Dash. I think Prop still has the lead in number of gauges though.

I do like the Speedwell door handles, though....
John Shep
Must be a MGCC-member judging by the kilo's of bling-bling. :) Do we by any chance happen to know a 45 year old housepainter in Missouri-shire in the UK? LOL!!
Arie de Best
As John points out, there is a whole load of very nice period aftermarket bits on that Sprite, however it proves the addage that you can have too much of a good thing.
Gary & Gaps
Or should that be, disproves the old addage that you can't have too much of a good thing. Please take note of the two sets of double exhausts exiting back left and right.
Gary & Gaps
Yuk. :^O
Alex G Matla
I've just noticed that he's got a Bermuda style soft top.
Gary & Gaps
The dual exhausts go with the dual filler caps!
AndrewF
....and two aerials..... I quite like the paint job though!

I've got a set of those wheels in my garage, which I've been debating putting on for a while. Never seen them on a spridget before, and whilst the rest of the car looks hideous, and the spinners that have been glued on look pretty ridiculous, I actually quite like the look of the wheels themselves. Might have to get on with getting the wheels rubbered and put on... |
MarkH1
Be careful Mark, it is a slippery slope. ;)
Trevor Jessie
Whew, That was close.... i still got him beat in the gauge department... i counted 11.... and i got 14.....hahaha I posted on another sight....I do like the car,its like gary mentions.... its just to much Loose the arrow strip, the luggage rack, the bumpers in fav of over riders, change the hood to black... i think its a nice ride I really like the head light detail in chrome But im envious of the dash and interior.... it just looks so fighter pilot Im curious what the drive train is... its clearly an automatic transmission...or can you shift a manual box with a T shifter handle
Prop
Shame :(
P Ottewell
Actualy Prop I dont think it is an automat, just a different hendle on a standard midget gearbox. Look close at the chromed gearlever"box" and then near the "noz-kit"?. You can see a black round thingy showing the gear changes like on a standard spridget gearknob. But to be honest I like it, I would buy/build one like that but I do apriciate the labor and passion that got in to this car. Beats those green and red spridgets whenit comes to originality. :)
Arie de Best
Jays that's ugly. Why on earth would anyone do THAT t a Frogeye? Bloody Philistines!
Deborah Evans
I like those fins! They sort of look right!
Guy
Prop, Look again. I could be wrong but I count 15 Gauges although one being a clock and one looks like a compass and 23 Switches and knobs combined. :)
Jon Saylor
Deborah, I think that it is likely that the guy has probably owned it for 40+ years so it's been a gradual evolution rather than a conscious effort. A bit like my ever increasing waistline. I didn't intend to go from a 28 to 34 inch waist. It's just sort of happened over the years!
Gary & Gaps
"But to be honest I like it, I would buy/build one like that but I do apriciate the labor and passion that got in to this car." Sligth correction: ... I wouldnt buy/build ... "Bloody Philistines!" Debs, you must have had a christian upbringing to know that kind of frases. :)
Arie de Best
There you've gone and done it Jon, now Prop will be working on installing another gauge and more switches and never get his car ready for Midget 50. ;-) Gary, you may well be right, look how long Prop has been working on his car and it's still not running. Let's hope it's less than 20 years before he gets it on the road.
B Young
Jon ... you maybe correct... its hard tto see on the phone...i guess i could do a 3rd vacume gauge.... yeah that thought occourd to me the other day accually...hahha
Prop
If that Frog still has the original spec engine, I would guess that acceleration is unnoticeable. Actually, the car in the picture was actually produced by Abingdon... it was a proposal for personal transport for the Swiss Army. :-) -:G:-
Gryf Ketcherside
Nice Gryf! We here it said on here many times that it's your car so do what you want, but, come on, there has to be a limit. I wonder if it all, or any of it works. Or is all just stuck on to "look good". It's awful. Bernie.

It's got eyelashes like Greta Garbo !! Dave
D MATTHEWS
Sorry for the typo on here (hear) Bernie.
