| What really Impressed Me about this guy... if you look at the corner he is standing on... Its the HIGHTS point in all of cole county. This guy is BUFF, as you can tell looking at his musle tone under his spandex, and to make that climb is NO small feat, I didnt get any photos of the guy doubled over gasping for air... How he did it? ... I dont know, Pure Grit and determination that Only Captian America could muster... its a heck of a grade to walk... Ive done it, ALL 1 Mile of it and WITHOUT an 80 pound back pack like he is doing ... and to do it in full custom---Just WOW all the way ,,, Im guessing the guy is about 40 So what ever this guy is trying to accomplish and to do it with all the style He is endevored.. well, Im envious, Id like to march with this guy as a super hero Also where ever he is going... Ive thought about this super hero all day , and Ive thought what would be the toughest part of this challange... obviously, the physical endurance rates high, the financial sacrifice for the cause must be steep.., But I think the hardest part is the costume, as Captian America, you cant have a bad day, you cant be to tired in the face of the children, you cant show dishonor to the hero you represent, theres alot of responsiability your volenteering for wearing the uniform of Captian America. (heavy is the crown) anyway, It was the high light of my day, month.. years ... Whos counting... LOL, But I just wanted to share As to Captian America... your definatly My new hero... Now Im looking forward to the film Prop

| My hat's off to this guy for doing what he's doing. Sadly too many veterans are ignored once they have served their country. The politicians should make sure that these men and women have whatever they have coming to them because believe me, they earned it while serving their country and for being there so the rest of the folks at home can sleep in peace at night. If you have your freedom, it's because a soldier died to make sure you got it. Sorry for my soap box speech, but veterans are near and dear to my heart. |

| Clive I hear ya Its ALL I can do to avoid getting on my soapbox ... our treatment of vets after they come home all shot up is just revolting... and dont even ask me about my opinion as to why there activated into service and the war stratagy they are supposed to carry out over the past 10 years, ... afgan aside, Ill just say... horse whipping certian politiacans into a bloody pulp is to nice IMHO Prop.... Freedom isnt free |

| Prop, If you live close enough to Bill Young could you stop by today, and buy him a cup a coffee? Bill, This clip was sent to me late yesterday from a fellow Vietnam Veteran. Welcome home. http://www.vimeo.com/21489777 Regards, Larry C. (7th Air Force, Tan Son Nhut, 1970) |

| Thanks Larry, same to you. It's been a long time now since those days. I never did get some of the horrible treatment many vets did but I try these days to say thanks to anyone I see in uniform, especially when I'm in an airport and they are transiting to or from deployments. For us older guys we just blend into the crowd in our civies, so it is nice when we remember each other. This year I am going to sponsor the November activity for our club and it's going to be a tour of the National WWI Museum here in KC. No better way that I can think of to remember those veterans than to spend a few hours seeing what they went through. Just to enter the museum you have to cross the "Poppy Field" where there are 9000 poppies each representing 1000 dead, a total of 9 million on all sides.

| I had never heard of Welcome Home Viet Nam Veterans Day but being in Canada I suppose it wouldn't be big news here. For those who served anywhere at anytime for their country, I heartily thank you even though I'm now no longer serving either. I had a family member leave me his WW I service medals when he died. He didn't speak much about his experiences and in some ways I wish he had because it's all history now but I understand the reluctance to dig out supressed memories. He did say, however, that he had no fear of Hell when he die because he had already been there. I can probably scarcely imagine what it must have really been like. |

| Clive, Thank you for your service. In close cooperation with the Canadian Air Force (Air Defense Command) I spent (90 days) TDY (temporay duty) up in Cold Lake, Alberta (Norteast of Edmonton) in 1969 training at the Weapons Testing Range. Actually I have very fond memories of my time there, cold beer was never a problem and everyone treated me well. Unforunately for me, (talk about extremes), I was next sent to the Mekong Delta, Vietnam. Bill, Thanks for the photo, and hope all goes well with your event. Kind Regards, Larry C. |

| I dont want to go down this road... BUT beig that we are here.... I think it is NOW more important then ever that we fully support our men and women in uniform in Iraq 2, in just a few months we will be pulling a large chunk of our troops home from iraq ... Already the debate has just begun, did we (Win, Tie, Or Lose) the war in iraq.. sadly the tide is heavly favoring LOSS, and some are argueing a TIE... But the eveidance is vary clear... we did NOT win iraq 2 Considering so many of our troops Over 5000 died in total vain, for absolutly nothing combined with 180,000 that where severaly wounded with missing legs, arms, and gapping head wounds... is completely sickening to me, Add to the fact that this war will go down as a Loss, or Tie at best... Its going to be a sad day for our military.. Trust me... The National Embarresment of of the privious white house WILL not claim responsiability and will gladly lay the loss at our men in uniforms feet, and will blame them for the loss... after all he was vary embarressed and ashamed of our military for making him look so bad the last 2 years of his leadership that he re-fused to show honor for our fallen war heros in arlington national cemetray 2 YEARS IN A ROW... God, how vial is that. It is our responsiabilty over these next few months to ENSURE that the proper crown of failure rest solely on the heads of those in command in the past administration and Give our war heros the honor they deserve... to do other wise,,, makes you a trash can waste of space in my opinion It sickens me, that that fight is already being prepared for to lay blame at our military for the iraq 2 loss by the leaders of the past administration to protect there "Ill precieved place in history" WE MUST FORCE THE CROWN OF TRUTH UPON THERE HEADS... so that history will not be decieved. If we fail in this endevor, then our iraq 2 vets will no doulbt face the ridicule that our vietnam vets faced for there loss of vietnam |

| By the way on that great video... THE END DATE IS WRONG ... Its NOT 1973 but may 12 1975, i have never heard of march 31 as welcome home day for veit nam vets... But Im glad it exist. to me may 12th would seem a much better date to celebrate the lives of "REAL MEN" Of my fathers generation. But Im glad a day like this exist... it needs to be promoted There is something couragous about a man that makes plans for a certian path, and then gets a simple letter in the mail telling him, not so fast ... we the fed gov has other plans... and in 30 days, they step up to the plate, and be a man about it, and then there are those that didnt get the letter and said, WOW, look at all that dieing going on over there, I need to do my part to honor my country... Talk about TOTAL cool factor... just amazing to me. Prop |
