MG Midget and Sprite General - parts value question
Someone wants the front cowl trim piece that fits a Bugeye Sprite and I have an extra. It's original and still vinyl covered. This is the long curved piece that fits the top edge of the dash. Any ideas on it's value? I need a ballpark so I can know what to ask for it. Hopefully this will buy me a little gas on my way to the 50th Midget celebration in Wisconsin next month - 4000+ miles round trip!

Rick, as a general rule I usually start with a price about 50% of the catalog list and then either move up or down a bit depending on condition. Of course if the part is no longer available in reproduction then the sky's the limit so to speak. Hopefully someone who deals in Sprite parts will chime it and give you the market value these days, if not then start high but not too high and you can always negotiate down if you want. It really depends on how bad the buyer needs the part if it's no longer made. I'd suggest somewhere betwen $50 and $75 in that case and move from there if he doesn't offer that much.

Thanks Bill, I just found out who the buyer is - that can make a huge difference.
