MG Midget and Sprite General - Painting patience
| Having seen many chats re painting I thought this might be of interest, Customer brought it in to show me (ok not a midget) he had used 42 tins (yes 42) of enamel aerosols i made him, Just shows what a little effort can do, he's never done anything like this before, taken two years to rebuild now used daily. | Nice one That is a Vauxhall Victor F series? One very rare car possibly due to the fact that they were notorious for rusting away within a couple of years from purchase. You need a shot from the back to see the unique (At that time antway) exhaust exit position! |

So I guess that answers my question from the other thread. If you are a bit mental you can spray your car with aerosols and it won't look dog rough! 42 cans at about £7 each = about £300. Hmmm.... Malcolm

About the same "proper" paint costs then!

That's a cool thing. You don't happen to know what colour it is?

Re the colour it was a blue /green we created for him to his requirements it looks green from one angle and blue from another, Totally agree that you could paint a car for less. + compressor + spray gun + hose and sprayshop which he doesn't have, this chap did it in his garage over 2 months, a panel a night, the best quote he had for painting it was £450 and that didnt cover inner sills and door frames or all seats and rubbers ect ect would have to have been taken out and major masking after getting it to spray shop on a trailer. the aerosols cost him 252.00 in a proper (please dont go there)paint.
