No Prop, this is just a run of the mill 1960 Mk1 Sprite. Not in very good condition but has LOTS of potential. I bought it for it's steel bonnet but may have other plans for it yet... Pictures will follow in time. I'll send the details to Ray, but I'm sure he'll have them already. Mark.

Mark spare a few seconds if you will do you remember or know of a guy near Barnsley with the Deep Pink Mk11 Sprite? Had him on the blower toonight for twenty minutes or so He thought I was still "summat in t'Sprite Club" and wanted to tell me he'd decided to sell it 'cos he can't get in it anymore "what with hips and kerlackered knees" He says he wants about £6K, he gave me his phone number and name He says Anita saw the car just after her accident I suggested he offer it around the Healey Club and said I'd mention it in here So basic info Is the car a good un for that kind of cash? I'd appreciate a response just so I can phone him a bit of aadvice Cheers, see you next month, should be fun

Hi Mark, Was going to post about MG car club Mt Cotton hillclimb. As you know it should be a good contest in the historic racing Group Sb with Mike Allen in his quick "White Lightning" Sprite and Steve Purdy in his fast "Good Little Red Car" (Pat Pat) Midget. It's always more smiles than race face. I hope to get there on Sunday but should be putting the rear axle into Budgie. Phil

Bill - I remember Mark and anita mentioning it at the time and saying it was a really good car -- but i thought he was only asking 4.5 k at the time!
Mick struggling with the wiring
| Bill, We did see the Deep Pink Sprite and whilst it is a very genuine car, his restoration standards may be more 1970's than 2011's. However, I wouldn't want to dampen the guy's enthusiasm. The car is genuine and was in good sound condition when we saw it 3 years ago, spending a lot of it's life in Spain and out of the British weather. It was the paintwork and the engine that were its main areas of concern for me, but as mentioned above, different standards. The last we'd heard, he'd crashed it... so maybe it's now in a far better condition than when we saw it. As Mick mentions, it's more £4500.00 than £6000.00, and as far as I know, it's always been for sale. He SHOULD be taking it to Midget 50 if he wants a good potential buying audience. Looking forward to catching up... Mark.

Cheers Mark (and you too Mick) I thought he was kite flying with 6K, expect 5½ will be a start. Who knows where he'll go with the price if one wanted to begin a talk. Me? I can't think where else to send him, Midget 50 doesn't seem to be on his radar at all. Looks like a quite nice car and he has had a front wing damage job repaired. Roy Kelly is his name, I have his phone number if anyone wants to call him. (no I am not on commission)

Mark, is that overspray on the inside of the front passenger side tyre in your photo?
Mothy
No engine huh? Wanna try something really crazy? Swap the engine out for the diesel version of the 948cc A seiries engine from a BMC mini tractor. Then convert to waste veggie oil. You'll have the only frogeye that will smell like fish and chips while crawling along on 16 hp. Still you can laugh at outrageos gas prices in your 100+ mpg spirite. Who cares if you have a top speed of 59.7 mph. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2466/3639612794_4c834c80fa.jpg On second thought, maybe not.
