What to do if your dad needs his ladder back and wife and kids need the modern?

Stick the ladder on the Midget, of course...I raised one or two chuckles from fellow motorists on Saturday driving over to my parents' house.

On the plus side, I got to spend some time with my Ashley hardtop which is in their garage. Got to work stripping the old flaky orange and red and orange layers of paint of, to find the gel coat is...BRG, and a good match for the BRG of the car. So I'm not going to paint the top, just polish up the gelcoat. Brilliant. It also appears to fit really well, too - which I note is not always the case. So I'm well chuffed. Oh and even my mum who's completely indifferent to cars said, "ooh, it's a nice shape that, isn't it"

ha ha, brilliant.

Reminds me of a time when my sister was giving me and a wheel barrow a lift in her MGF! I sat in the passanger seat with the wheelbarrow on my head. It was also mid winter (the wheel barrow was a christmas present) and we were driving with the roof down in order for it to fit.

Got a few funny looks (apparently, I couldn't see out from under the 'barrow).

Excellent - it's not just me then!

I carried a boat mast on my midget once, no roll bar but I tied it to the boot rack at the back and the widscreen corner through the quaterlight. It was very very long, and kept threatening to swipe pedestrians from the pavements when going round corners.
