MG Midget and Sprite General - Nascarp is using Mustangs now?
| When did nascrap start using mustanges... the talking drone numb heads, just mentioned something about fords new nascarp mustange ... Said it several times. So Is the ""Ford Thunderbird"" no longer considard the most awsomeness coolest must have race car under the ford flagship line up that every 80 year old fart salavates over? If not ... Wow, thats gonna hurt monday morning dealership sales. Seriosly, I dont know how that new nascrap mustange is ever going to compete agianst the ULTRA cool chevy cavalier... cause when you think chevy race cars, nietch boring brands like camero, and corvette arent even in the same league as for the Chevy cavelier... Ladys go lesbian for the CAV... even if they are from ethiopia, then agian the CAV does kinda look like a cheese burger Im glad I CANT tell the diffeance from one nascrap car to the next... otherwise I might actually muster a vague sleepy yawn of consern. | As I remember back in the 60's, they stole bits from the ford falcon (we called it something less pleasing then) and invented the mus-take. Has it become a real car now??? |

Correct me if I am wrong, guys. Aren't the Nascar racers all the same underneath? Does it matter what shape the bit of plastic cover is?
John Shep
OH No John, These cars have all been purchased right off the loacal car dealership lot and have been modified to race on the track....thats why there called stock cars....HAHAha Prop

Prop, Yes, Mustang and Challenger decaled cars are used in the Nationwide (old Busch or Grand National) series. At least the cars they are based on are rear wheel drive with v8 engines in the real world. I always thought it was kind of a load that all the cars on the track were rear wheel, V8, and the cars they were based on are front wheel 4 or V6. Oh, and they haven't used Thunderbirds since 1997..

I thought they changed the name to No Actual Stock Cars Are Racing. I was a big fan when Richard Petty was driving Plymounths. These were cars you could and did see on the street, in fact there is a one owner Superbird in town here. Eurpoean Road racing is more interesting than NASCAR and teh cars are real.

Kevin your absolutly correct. I hope I didnt misled anyone into thinking I was serious... Im just vary condensinding when it comes to nascar...Like Kevin, I miss the old Great days of kayle yourbough, AJ foyt, richard petty, sterlin moss, ect ect. All those old great drivers And cars that atually looked like real cars you would see driving down the road.... Those guys just looked like they where having fun..... Not like today with most of the drivers under 30 But I was surprised to hear that there actually using the "NAME" mustange... like that really means anything, and I wasnt aware that it had been so long scence they used the thunderbird name... Im guessing there using escorts or tempos as the cars name NOW LOL Ive always thought for the past 7 years a really cool race series woul be mustange, camero, and charger,, that would be cool...Off the lot cars, vary few rules and regs... you have to post all mods on line, and any purchased parts has to be over the counter so joe blow avg, can buy the same parts for his car... any mods have to be detailed on line so anyone can copy it and the other drives know what you got Just a basic format but left open for expermentation and creativity and heavy focas on safty is the only real concern. they HAVE to be driven too the track like 30 miles in prade format and then raced as they where praded.. and do a whole gauntlent of races... dirt track circle, paved nascar, drag racing, drifting, cross country ..(new york to LA) road track, Id even do a complete fastest build, plus 50 laps race bascally it HAS to look like it came off the lot, you can flare and bend, and buldge,,, but it HAS to look real, smae basic size engine, type tranny, suspension, brakes, wheel size, all running the same gas... ect rct... but your welcome to do what every you want with the basic format, you want to run a S/C ...fine,,, you want to run 8 carbs, fine, run EFI... thatz cool as long as the engine are no more then a max of 400 CI, and everyone is doing a 5 speed, pick your own gears ... 1 pitstop for gas, so balance fuel economy with performance... ect ect. I think bringing back creativity and making every car transparent with off the shelf race parts would just be a Blast to watch and follow... God knows the parts suppliers retailers, parts devolopers, mag writers, crafteman and everyone else would love it, Id think. you could get a real feel for the head to head match ups a week before the race think of the debates for the week in advance with all your friends. that would be would so fun,... well this guy has got that part, but ha aint that good a driver an this guy is, but he dosnt have that part Oh... One more thing... ID make it manditory that the driver have no less then a 25% actual real (HIS OWN) money stake in the car, and no owner can own more then 2 teams... Anyway its just fun to make fun of nascrap, there so completely out of touch its just laughable. thats the point of my thread... No seriousness Allowed... LOL Prop
