MG Midget and Sprite General - MX5 Seats in Midget
| I've seen a few entries in the archive for this topic but can anyone provide pictures of MX5 seats in a Midget / Sprite? Thanks Paul |

MX5 same as Mazda Miata? If so then here's a pic of them in my 1979 Midget..

| Richard, if my eyes dont deceve me those are the mk1 seats witht the speakers build in the headrest? Looks like the back is thinner then the mgf seats(giving more legroom?), but on the mgf seat the headrests look more slimmer/smaller. I believe the later type mazda seats are even thinner in the back and smaller on the headrest part but ive only seen them in cloth and not leather. Btw, never seen light collored leather mk1 seats before in a midget, looks very nice! Tarquin's(always in a good mood..):) midget with later type mazda seats:

| Thank you Richard & Arie, the pictures are helpful. I have some MGF seats & they can look really good, including those in Arie's car, but I'm concerned that they look a little bit too big in the Midget. If they were just 5% smaller I think they'd be perfect. If I went the MX5 route I'd look for some with the separate headrest rather than the highback version. I'd like to find something with headrests but looks a bit more of the 60's period (or could be recovered to do so). This requirement maybe contradictory, not sure. Any constructive thoughts / ideas / comments? |
